In UTME, note that English Language is mandatory for all courses. The other three subjects required to study Food Technology under the Faculty of Engineering, Environment and Technology in the institutions listed above are: Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics or Biology.

O’Level Requirements for UTME Candidates (JAMB Brochure for Food Technology)

To apply for Food Technology as a UTME candidate, you require: Five SSCE credit passes to include Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English Language and any other Science subject

Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks (JAMB Brochure for Food Technology)

(i) BELLS requires five SSCE Credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Physics/ Agricultural Science/ Geography or Economics/ Food and Nutrition. May consider a pass in Physics at O’ level.

(ii) UI accept ND/HND at upper credit level.

(iii) UI accepts 2 ‘A’ level passes in Physics and Mathematics plus UTME requirements. Accepts also ND/HND at upper credit level {65%} accepted to 200/300 Upper levels respectively plus UTME requirements. Knowledge of Further Mathematics is an advantage for all Engineering Courses.

Requirements for Direct Entry Candidates

To apply for Food Technology as a Direct Entry candidate, you require: (i)‘A’ level passes in two of Physics Chemistry, and Mathematics.

(ii) ND/HND (upper credit) in relevant fields.

(i) UI accepts ‘A’ level passes in Mathematics and Chemistry plus UTME requirements.
