This part of the JAMB brochure shows you the requirements to apply for Literature in English under the Faculty of Arts and Humanities in Nigeria. JAMB UTME Subject Combination

In UTME, note that English Language is mandatory for all courses. The other three subjects required to study Literature in English under the Faculty of Arts and Humanities in the institutions listed above are:

Literature-in-English, one other Arts subject and another Arts or Social Science subject.

Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks

(i) ABU requires Literature in English and two other subjects in Arts or Social Science

O’Level Requirements for UTME Candidates

To apply for Literature in English as a UTME candidate, you require: Five SSCE credit passes to include Literature in English and English Language.

Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks

(i) ABU require five O/Level credit passes to include English Language, Literature in English and three other subjects in Arts or Social Science.

Requirements for Direct Entry Candidates

To apply for Literature in English as a Direct Entry candidate, you require: Two ‘A’ level passes to include Lit.-in-English and one other Arts subject.

Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks

(i) OAU same as in English Language.

(ii) UNIOSUN accepts Two ‘A’ level passes to include Literature in English and other Arts subjects or NCE in English/Political Science.

(iii) ABU accepts:
a. Two ‘A’ level papers including English at IJMB/ NCE
b. General English/Use of English at NCE satisfies’ O’ level English requirement subjects.
