In UTME, note that English Language is mandatory for all courses. The other three subjects required to study Local Government Studies under the Faculty of Social and Management Sciences in the institutions listed above are:
Government or History and any two of Economics, Commerce, Geography and Mathematics
O’Level Requirements for UTME Candidates
To apply for Local Government Studies as a UTME candidate, you require: English Language (not Literature in English) and Mathematics and any three subjects from the following:
Economics/Commerce,Business Methods,Principles of Accounts,Literature in English,Geography, Office Practice, Government,Biology/Agricultural Science,
Requirements for Direct Entry Candidates
To apply for Local Government Studies as a Direct Entry candidate, you require: (i)IBADANPOLY and ABUTH require credit passes
to include English Language and at least a pass
(ii)IBDANPOLY does not accept history.
(iii)PLSPOLY :requires O/L credit passes in English
Language, pass in Mathematics, and three other credit
from Government/History, Economics,Commerce, Geography, Biology/Agric. Sci, IRK/CRK.
(iv)KANPOLY :accepts Certificate in Local Government Studies or Public Administration of KanoPoly plus five relevant credit passes in Mathematics, English
Language, Economics, Accounts, Government/History,
Biology, Agric Science, Geography, Commerce.
(v)NACABS : accepts Certificate Course of the College or from any recognised institution OR any other qualification recognized by the College Academic Board.
(i)ABUTH :accepts Literature in English, CRS/IRS and Agricultural Science/Biology among optional subjects.
