JAMB UTME Subject Combination

In UTME, note that English Language is mandatory for all courses. The other three subjects required to study Philosophy under the Faculty of Social and Management Sciences in the institutions listed above are:

Government and any other two subject

Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks

(i) UNN accepts any three subjects.

O’Level Requirements for UTME Candidates

To apply for Philosophy as a UTME candidate, you require: Five SSCE credit passes in Government or History, English Language and three other subjects. At least a pass in Mathematics is required

Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks

(i) GO requires credit passes in English Language, Mathematics and any three subjects.

Requirements for Direct Entry Candidates

To apply for Philosophy as a Direct Entry candidate, you require: Government or History plus two other Social Science/Arts subjects

Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks

(i) GO accepts any two ‘A’ level passes and any degree which the senate may consider acceptable for admission purpose.

(ii) UNN accepts any two A’ level passes plus UTME requirements.
