JAMB UTME Subject Combination

In UTME, note that English Language is mandatory for all courses. The other three subjects required to study Theatre And Film Studies under the Faculty of Arts and Humanities in the institutions listed above are:

Literature in English and two other relevant subjects..

Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks

(i) UNN requires Literature in English and two subjects from either arts or social sciences.

O’Level Requirements for UTME Candidates

To apply for Theatre And Film Studies as a UTME candidate, you require: Five SSCE credit passes to include English Language and Arts subjects.

Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks

(i) UNIJOS require credit pass in Literature-in-English.

(ii) UNIJOS Fine Art is not compulsory.

(iii) UNIPORT requires English Language, Literature in English and any other two Arts or Social Science subjects

(iv) UNN requires Five ‘O’ level credit passes in subjects which must include English language, Literature-in-English, and one science subject at WASCE or its equivalents.

Requirements for Direct Entry Candidates

To apply for Theatre And Film Studies as a Direct Entry candidate, you require: Two ‘A’ level passes in Arts, Social Science or Science subjects.

Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks

(i) UNN accepts
(a) ND/NCE either in Theatre Arts or any other relevant subjects or Advanced level certificate in literature.
(b) ND in Mass Communication, Fine and Applied Arts, Electrical/Elect. Engineering, Music,Management and other relevant areas plus UTME requirements.

(ii) UNIJOS accept Certificate in Drama, Theater Arts – Mass Comm. and Music. ‘A’ level passes to include English Language, Lit-in-English, plus UTME requirements.

(iii) UNIJOS accept ‘A’ level/IJMB pass in two or three Principal papers and other certificates in Drama, Mass Communication, Communication, Journalism with three ‘O’ level in relevant subjects including Literature in English.
