1b. According to Jesus’ concept, a family is not only made up of father, mother, and children by blood, but also includes all those who hear the word of God and obey it. Such people are his brothers, sisters, and mother.

1c. Ephesians 6:1-3 says: “Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise; That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.”

2a. A forerunner is someone who goes ahead to prepare the way for another person, especially a leader or great personality. John the Baptist was the forerunner of Jesus Christ.

2b. The groups that John the Baptist addressed were the Pharisees, the Sadducees, the tax collectors, and the soldiers.

2c. John’s warning to the people was that God’s judgment is near. He told them that the axe is already laid at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not bear good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire. This means that unrepentant people will face destruction.

3a. Two reasons why Jesus was baptized are:
– To fulfill all righteousness, as it was God’s will.
