This post is primarily about Junior WAEC timetable 2024. So I’m going to provide concrete information for JSS 3 students searching for the time table. I will give you details about the starting date of the 2024 Junior WAEC examination and the closing date also. About Junior WAEC 2024
Junior WAEC examination is also referred to as BECE. BECE is the abbreviation for Basic Education Certificate Examination. It is an examination that is conducted yearly by the various State Ministries of Education in all the 36 states of the Federation and the FCT. Of course, it is mostly students in government-run secondary schools that sit for this examination. Even though their counterparts from private schools also sit for it with the approval of the government.
There is also the BECE that the National Examination Council (NECO) conducts. This one is for Federal Unity Colleges, Armed Forces Secondary Schools and other Federal establishments operating Secondary schools.
JSS 3 Students from private schools and mission schools also participate in NECO BECE, as long as they have the approval of their state ministry of education. In most states, the BECE administered by NECO comes up before Junior WAEC.

However, a candidate must take a minimum of ten and a maximum of thirteen subjects.
Junior WAEC Timetable 2024
The Junior WAEC timetable for 2024 candidates is out. According to the timetable, the Junior WAEC cum BECE exams would start on Wednesday, 12th June and end on Wednesday, 19th June, 2024 for all JSS 3 students.
So all the JSS 3 students in their various schools across the country will receive notification from their school authorities in this regard.

Additional information about Junior WAEC 2024 Timetable
Schools and candidates should note the following very carefully.
- Where the time on the question paper differs from the time on this timetable, the time on the question paper should be strictly adhered to.
- Practical in Business Studies as well as Basic Science & Technology (BST) should be in sets where the number of candidates is large and the equipment cannot go round. However, the practical examination should not exceed 5.00pm. Computers can be used for Business Studies.
- Albinos and Blind Candidates are to be given 30mins extra time in all.
- Blind Candidates must make use of NECO-supplied OBR Customised Braille Sheet for the exam.

Which Countries Write BECE?
Nigeria and Ghana are the two countries that write BECE. BECE which stands for Basic Education Certificate Examination is the exam which qualifies students for admission into senior secondary school. The examination is written after three years of Junior secondary education.
How Many Subjects are Required for BECE?
BECE is the certificate that shows that a student has completed basic education satisfactorily. It is also generally known as Junior WAEC. With the result, students can proceed to senior secondary school. At least 10 subjects are required for BECE and they must include Mathematics, English, Basic Science, Social studies and other relevant subjects. Actually, Mathematics and English are compulsory among the core subjects.
Is BECE hard?
The answer to this question is relative. In other words, it all depends on the level of preparation of the student in question. The exam would be difficult for the unprepared but easy for the prepared. So you have do your best to prepare adequately for the examination. Of course, you know that if you get very high grades in BECE, it will increase your chances of getting admission into your preferred senior high school.
What are the grades in BECE?
- 90 – 100 is grade 1, A+
- 80 – 89 is grade 2, A
- 70 – 79 is grade 3 or B+ and is described as HIGH.
- 60 – 69 is grade 4, GRADE B, described as HIGH AVERAGE.
- 55 – 60 is GRADE C+, classified as 5 and described as AVERAGE.

There is an error in the date , it is June instead of July
Today is June 12 202e3 and my child is yet to write BECE and I have complained to the school because there are 2 dates for the junior WAEC but he keeps giving excuses will they be another junior WAEC apart from may 9th and June? And when will it be?
