JAMB Subject Combination for Industrial Mathematics

In UTME, note that English Language is mandatory for all courses. The other three subjects required to study Industrial Mathematics under the Faculty of Sciences in the institutions listed above are: Mathematics and any two of Physics, Chemistry, Economics, Biology and Agricultural Science.

Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks (JAMB Brochure for Industrial Mathematics)

(i) FUTA and BELLS accept Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry only.

(ii) UNIBEN requires Mathematics, Physics and any of Biology, Chemistry, Agricultural Science and Economics.

(iii) WESTERN-DEL requires Mathematics and any two of Physics, Chemistry, Economics, Biology and Agricultural Science.

(iv) EBSU accepts Statistics but does not accept Agricultural Science.

(v) CRUTECH requires for Biochemistry Chemistry, Biology and either Physics or Mathematics.

O’Level Requirements for UTME Candidates (JAMB Brochure for Industrial Mathematics)

To apply for Industrial Mathematics as a UTME candidate, you require: Five SSCE credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics and two other Science subjects.

Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks (JAMB Brochure for Industrial Mathematics)

(i) ESUT requires English Language, Mathematics and three credit passes out of Physics, Statistics, Economics, Biology, Chemistry, Further Mathematics and Agricultural Science.

(ii) EBSU accepts two other credit passes from Biology, Economics, Physics and Statistics.

(iii) UNIBEN accepts Credit passes in English language, Mathematics and any three of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Agric. Science or Geography.

(iv) DELSU accepts English Language, Mathematics and any of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Further Mathematics, Economics and Geography.

(v) IMSU requires a credit pass in Chemistry and accepts a pass in English Language.

(vi) AAUA requires at least a pass in Chemistry.

(vii) FUTA requires credit in Chemistry.

(viii) WESTERN-DEL requires five SSCE credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Economics, Geography, any two Science subjects.

Requirements for Direct Entry Candidates (JAMB Brochure for Industrial Mathematics)

To apply for Industrial Mathematics as a Direct Entry candidate, you require:
(i) Two ‘A’ level passes from Mathematics, Physics, Economics or Chemistry.
(ii) NCE with minimum of merit in relevant subjects.

Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks

(i) EBSU accepts ‘A’ level passes in Mathematics and any one of Biology/Health Science, Chemistry, Economics, Physics, Statistics and Agricultural Science. It also accepts HND, NCE and ND with a minimum of Merit and Upper credit respectively in the relevant fields.

(ii) DELSU accepts A/L and NCE (merit pass) in Maths plus any Social Science subject.

(iii) FUTA accepts:
a) Two ‘A’ Level passes in Science subjects including Mathematics and Physics.
b) National Diploma in Computer Science with at least an Upper Credit.
c) NCE in Computer Science/Maths, Computer Science/Physics, Maths/Physics with at least Credit Pass in both

(iv) UNIBEN accepts DME (Merit level) in addition to UTME requirements.

(v) AAUA requires A’ level passes in both Maths and Physics and also accepts ND in Computer Science, Statistics or any other related courses at lower credit level.

(vi) BELLS accepts:
a) Two A’ level passes chosen from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology.
b) ND/HND in related field plus UTME requirements

(vii) WESTERN-DEL accepts:
a) Two ‘A’ Level passes to include Mathematics, Physics, Economics or Chemistry.
b) NCE/ND with minimum of merit in relevant subjects.

(viii) ESUT requires two ‘A’ Level passes to include Mathematics. It accepts National Diploma in Science courses.
