In UTME, note that English Language is mandatory for all courses. The other three subjects required to study Library and Information Science under the Faculty of Sciences in the institutions listed above are:

Any three subjects from Arts/Social Science/Physical

O’Level Requirements for UTME Candidates

To apply for Library and Information Science as a UTME candidate, you require: English Language and Mathematics and any three other subjects from:History,Literature in English,
Economics/Commerce,Fine Arts,Government,Biology Physics,Chemistry,Basic Electricity,Geography,
Typewriting,Commerce/Principles of Accounting.

Requirements for Direct Entry Candidates

To apply for Library and Information Science as a Direct Entry candidate, you require: (i)ABUTH : requires credits in English Language,
Mathematics plus any other two credits.

(ii) PLSPOLY: requires four O/L credit passes in
English Language, and any three subject and a pass in Mathematics.

(iii)EDEPOLY: requires five o level credits in English Language,Mathematics plus any other three from science and social sciences.

(iv)NEKEDEPOLY: credit passes in English Language and four other subjects with passes in Mathematics and one science subjects.

(v)MUBIPOLY : accepts a pass in Mathematics as course requirement.

(vi)RUGIPO : also accepts three other credit passes from Civic Education, Tourism, Office Practice, Information and Communication Technology, Data Processing, Computer Studies,Basic Electricity, Islamic Religious Studies,Christian Religious Knowledge and Health Science.

(vii)OFFAPOLY: requires Mathematics, Biology and Economics as UTME subjects.
