It was during our school’s inter-house sports. I was chosen to represent my house in the 800 metres race. At first, I felt excited, but when I got to the field and saw my competitors, fear gripped me. Most of them were taller and stronger than I was.

The race started and I ran as fast as I could. After the first lap, I began to feel tired. My chest pounded heavily, my legs ached, and I almost gave up. But then I remembered the encouragement from my house captain and the faith my classmates had in me. That thought gave me new strength.

With determination, I pushed on, and to my greatest surprise, I crossed the finish line first. The cheers and claps from the crowd made me feel on top of the world. The victory taught me that with courage and persistence, I can overcome any challenge.

It happened on a Friday afternoon as I was returning from school. The sun was very hot, and everyone seemed to be in a hurry to get home. Answer:

I strongly oppose the statement that technology has done more harm than good to society. In my opinion, technology has brought more benefits than disadvantages.

First, technology has improved communication. With mobile phones and the internet, people can connect with family, friends, and colleagues across the world within seconds. This has made the world a global village.

Second, education has been transformed through technology. Students now have access to e-books, online classes, and educational videos that make learning easier and faster. For example, during the COVID-19 lockdown, many schools continued teaching through online platforms. Without technology, education would have been completely disrupted.

Third, technology has advanced healthcare. Doctors use modern machines to diagnose and treat diseases. Surgeries that were once impossible are now performed successfully, saving many lives.

Although some people argue that technology has caused harm, such as internet fraud, addiction to social media, and unemployment through machines replacing workers, these problems are not the fault of technology itself but the misuse of it. If people use technology responsibly, the benefits will always outweigh the disadvantages.

In conclusion, technology has done more good than harm to society. It has improved communication, education, and healthcare. The responsibility lies in our hands to use it wisely for progress and development.

Answer:

My favorite place to relax is the small garden behind our house. It is not very big, but it is peaceful and beautiful. Whenever I sit there in the evening, I can hear the soft chirping of birds as they return to their nests.
