Answers to Section B (Theory)

(a) The first ten multiples of 4 are: 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24, 28, 32, 36, and 40.
(b) The factors of 24 are 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 12, and 24.
The factors of 36 are 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 9, 12, 18, and 36.
The common factors are 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, and 12.
Therefore, the H.C.F of 24 and 36 is 12.

(a) To arrange ¾, ⅖, ⅝, and ⅗ in ascending order, convert them to decimals:
¾ = 0.75, ⅖ = 0.4, ⅝ = 0.625, ⅗ = 0.6.
So, the ascending order is: ⅖, ⅗, ⅝, ¾.
(b) Simplify ⅔ + ⅙ − ½:
The LCM of 3, 6, and 2 is 6.
= (4/6) + (1/6) − (3/6) = (4 + 1 − 3)/6 = 2/6 = .

(a) Perimeter of a rectangle = 2(L + B) = 2(12 + 8) = 2 × 20 = 40 cm.
Area = L × B = 12 × 8 = 96 cm².
