Christian Religious Studies (CRS) is a school subject that focuses on teaching students about the Bible, Christian values, and principles. It helps students develop a deeper understanding of God, moral character, and ethical living. CRS also emphasizes lessons from Biblical stories, the life of Jesus Christ, and the teachings of the early church, guiding students to apply these principles in their daily lives.

The subject is offered by students in Primary school and Secondary School as Christian Religious Studies (CRS).

CRS Exam Questions for JSS1 Second Term

CRS Exam Questions for JSS1 Second Term are divided into two sections:

  • Section A
  • Section B

The second section, namely, Section A is the objective test, and students are expected to attempt all questions in the section. Section B is the theory part, and students are expected to answer all the five (5) questions.

a. Obedience is the act of complying with rules, commands, or instructions, especially from a higher authority, without hesitation or rebellion.

b. The four things God promised Abraham:

  3. To give his descendants the land of Canaan.
  4. To bless all nations through him.

c. Two things God asked Abraham to do to demonstrate his obedience:

  1. Leave his country, relatives, and father’s house to a land God would show him.
  2. Sacrifice his son, Isaac, on Mount Moriah as an offering to God.

Question 2

a. Service is the act of doing work, fulfilling duties, or helping others in obedience to a call, often for the glory of God or the benefit of others.

b. Biblical persons called to service:

c. Samuel’s call to service:
Samuel was called by God as a child while he was serving in the temple under Eli. Despite initially mistaking God’s voice for Eli’s, Samuel responded with obedience when instructed to say, “Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening.” Samuel became a prophet and judge, faithfully delivering God’s messages to Israel.

a. Circumstances surrounding Moses’ birth:
Moses was born during a time when Pharaoh ordered all Hebrew male babies to be killed. His mother hid him for three months, then placed him in a basket on the Nile River. Pharaoh’s daughter found and adopted him, raising him in the palace.

b. How Joshua conquered Jericho:
Joshua obeyed God’s instructions to march around Jericho once a day for six days with the priests blowing trumpets. On the seventh day, they marched around seven times, and at Joshua’s command, the people shouted. The walls of Jericho fell, allowing Israel to capture the city.

a. God’s instruction to Joshua when He called him:
