JAMB Brochure for Agronomy. This part of the JAMB brochure shows you the requirements to apply for Agronomy under the Faculty of Agriculture in Nigeria. You will see the UTME subject combination needed to apply for the course, O’level requirements for UTME candidates, requirements such A’level, ND, HND, NCE, etc for Direct Entry candidates, as well as other information you require to successfully apply for the course.

  • Adamawa State University
  • Enugu State University Of Science And Technology
  • Nasarawa State University
  • Osun State University
  • Taraba State University
  • University of Ibadan

JAMB Subject Combination Agronomy

In UTME, note that English Language is mandatory for all courses. The other three subjects required to study Agronomy under the Faculty of Agriculture in the institutions listed above are: Chemistry, Biology or Agriculture and Physics or Mathematics.

Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks

(i) CRUTECH requires Mathematics, Physics and any of Biology or Chemistry.

(ii) UNIOSUN requires Chemistry, Biology/Agriculture and any other science subjects.

O’Level Requirements for Agronomy for UTME Candidates (JAMB Brochure for Agronomy)

To apply for Agronomy as a UTME candidate, you require: Five SSCE credit passes in Chemistry, English Language, Mathematics, Biology and Geography or Economics.

Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks (JAMB Brochure for Agronomy)

(i) ABSU requires a credit pass in Physics.

(ii) ESUT accepts pass in Physics.

(iii) CRUTECH require in addition to UTME requirements at least a pass in Physics.

(iv) LAUTECH requires five ‘O’ level credit passes in English Language, mathematics, Physics, Agric. Sci. or Biology.

(v) UNIOSUN requires five ’O’ Level credit passes in the SSCE or its equivalent at not more than two sittings in addition to an acceptable credit pass in the UME.

(vi) MOUAU same as in Agricultural Economics.

(vii) FUAM requires five credit passes in Biology or Agriculture Science, Chemistry, Mathematics, English Language, Physics or any other Science subjects. Accepts a pass in Physics.

(viii) TASU requires five credit passes in Biology or Agric. Science, Chemistry, Mathematics, English Language and one of Physics, Geography or Economics. UTME requirement with a pass in Physics is acceptable.

Requirements for Direct Entry Candidates (JAMB Brochure for Agronomy)

To apply for Agronomy as a Direct Entry candidate, you require: Two ‘A’ level passes in Chemistry/Biology/Botany/Zoology/Agric Science plus one of Mathematics/Physics and Geology/ Economics.

Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks (JAMB Brochure for Agronomy)

(i) LAUTECH accepts ND with Upper Credit/HND/NCE at Credit Level in relevant subjects, (Plus UTME requirements) may be considered for admission into 200 Level.

(ii) UNIOSUN accepts Two ‘A’ level credit passes in chemistry and one from Biology, Agriculture, Physics, Geography and Mathematics.

(iii) FUAM accepts:
a) Two `A” level passes in any of Chemistry and Biology/Agricultural Science/Botany/Zoology or Mathematics, (Pure and Applied) Physics, Geology and Economics).
b) NCE/OND/HND (Credit/Merit) in Agriculture.

(iv) TASU accepts ND (merit pass) in Crop production Technology plus UTME requirement.
