JAMB Subject Combination for Animal Production and Health Service

In UTME, note that English Language is mandatory for all courses. The other three subjects required to study Animal Production and Health Service under the Faculty of Agriculture in the institutions listed above are:
Chemistry, Biology/Agric Science and Physics/Mathematics.

Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks (JAMB Brochure for Animal Production and Health Service)

(i) CRUTECH requires Mathematics, Physics and one of Biology or Chemistry.

(ii) LAUTECH requires English Language, Chemistry, Mathematics/Physics and Biology/Agricultural Sciences

O’Level Requirements for Animal Production and Health Service for UTME Candidates

To apply for Animal Production and Health Service as a UTME candidate, you require: Five SSCE credit passes in Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology/Agric Science, Physics and English Language.

Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks (JAMB Brochure for Animal Production and Health Service)

(i) CRUTECH, EKSU, FUAM and UNIZIK accept a pass in Physics.

(ii) ADSU, FUTO and BASU accept a pass in Physics with a credit pass in Mathematics or vice-versa.

(iii) UNIZIK accepts a pass in English Language. A credit pass in Mathematics or a pass in Physics or vice versa.

(iv) NDU requires five ‘O’ level credit passes in English, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Biology or Agricultural Science.

(v) UNAAB requires:

a) Credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology.

b) At least a pass in Physics.

c) Candidates with pass grade in Biology must possess credit pass in Agricultural Science. It does not accept Agricultural Science in lieu of Biology.

(vi) MOUAU accepts Five O’ level credit Passes in not more than two sittings to include: English Language. Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, or Agricultural Science and any other science subjects. It also requires at least a Pass in Physics. A Credit in Agricultural Science must be backed up with at least a Pass in Biology.

(vii) ABSU requires credit in Physics.

(viii) FUTA requires five credits in WASSCE or NECO or GCE (O/L) or equivalent at a maximum of two sittings in the following subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Agricultural Science.

(ix) JABU accepts a pass in Physics.

(x) FUTMINNA accepts any one of Physics, geography, Economics, Home Economics, Food and nutrition as the fifth subject. At least a pass in Physics is required.

(xi) LAUTECH accepts Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology/Agric Science, Physics and English Language.

Requirements for Direct Entry Candidates (JAMB Brochure for Animal Production and Health Service)

To apply for Animal Production and Health Service as a Direct Entry candidate, you require: Two ‘A’ level passes or equivalent in Chemistry and one of Biology/Botany/Zoology/Agric. Science/ Geography/Geology/ Mathematics/Economics.

Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks (JAMB Brochure for Animal Production and Health Service)

(i) BASU, FUTO and FUTMINNA accept NCE, OND, HND with overall credit passes in each of the Agric. components of the programme or a minimum of Lower Credit plus four ‘O’ level credit passes in relevant subjects. FUTO does not accept NCE.

(ii) UNIBADAN and FUTO require two of Physics, Chemistry and Biology and OND/HND in Agriculture or Animal Health and Husbandry.

(iii) FUAM accepts OND/HND/NCE in Agric, Agric. Science and Education, Forestry, Home Economics, Food Science and wildlife who posses UTME requirements. Candidates with a credit in only one of Mathematics and Physics must at least have a pass in the other.

(iv) MOUAU requires ‘A’ level pass in Chemistry and Biology/Botany/Zoology/Agricultural Science.

(v) EKSU And FUTO accept pass in Physics but does not accept NCE.

(vi) OOU:

a) accepts credit pass in OND (Agric) to 100 level programme.

b) requires ‘A’ level pass in both Chemistry and Biology.

(vii) ADSU accepts OND (distinction), HND (credit), NCE (double major) at credit level in Agric.

(viii) NDU obtains:

a) passes at the Advance Level GCE or HSC in three of the following subjects: Biology, Zoology, Botany, Chemistry, Physics, Geography, Economics or Mathematics; Upper credit,

b) OND/ND in Agriculture or Fisheries,

c) Upper or Lower credit HND/NND. In some cases, depending on the candidates CGPA, he may be recommended for admission into the 3rd year.

(ix) LAUTECH requires ND with Upper Credit/HND/NCE at Credit Level in relevant subjects, (Plus UTME requirements) may be considered for admission into 200 Level.

(x) UNAAB accepts:

a) Two A’ level credit passes in Chemistry and one of Zoology/Botany/Agricultural Science/Biology, Mathematics or Physics.

b) ND/HND (Upper credit) in Agriculture from a recognized institution in any one of Animal Sciences, Animal Production and Health, Husbandry, Agric-Economics, Fisheries and Forestry and Wildlife Management plus UTME requirements.

c) NCE in Agricultural Science, Biology, Chemistry or Physics (credit) plus UTME requirements.

(xi) FUTA may admit candidates into the second year(200 level) of the programme through direct entry if they have a National Diploma with a minimum of Upper Credit or equivalent from recognized Polytechnics and Colleges of Technology in relevant disciplines (agricultural sciences). Such candidates are also expected to meet the requirements for UTME admission. Also candidates who possess GCE (A/L) or equivalent with passes in at least two of the following subjects are eligible for admission: Physics, Chemistry and Biology may be considered for admission into 200 level.

(xii) JABU requires Chemistry, Biology/Agric. Sci and any others from Economics, Physics, Geography and Mathematics. OND/NCE Upper credit in relevant areas.
