JAMB Subject Combination for Electrical Engineering
In UTME, note that English Language is mandatory for all courses. The other three subjects required to study Electrical Engineering under the Faculty of Engineering, Environment and Technology in the institutions listed above are: Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry
O’Level Requirements for Electrical Engineering for UTME Candidates (JAMB Brochure for Electrical Engineering)
To apply for Electrical Engineering as a UTME candidate, you require: Five SSCE credit passes including Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and English Language.
Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks (JAMB Brochure for Electrical Engineering)
(i) RSUST accepts further Mathematics in lieu of Mathematics and requires Agricultural Science or Biology as the fifth subject.
(ii) UNIPORT requires the fifth credit pass in any Science subject preferably Further Mathematics.
(iii) UNN requires five O’ level credit passes to include, Physics, Chemistry Mathematics, in not more than two sittings
Requirements for Direct Entry Candidates (JAMB Brochure for Electrical Engineering)
To apply for Electrical Engineering as a Direct Entry candidate, you require:
(i) ‘A’ level passes in Mathematics and Physics.
(ii) ND/HND in Elect Eng. Upper/Lower credit respectively.
Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks (JAMB Brochure for Electrical Engineering)
(i) UNN accepts:
(a) HND/ND/NCE in relevant fields
(b) Complete pass in Intermediate ICAN examination or equivalents`
(ii) NDU accepts:
(a) At least three (3) ‘A’ level passes at GCE or its equivalent in Physics, Mathematics/Further Mathematics and Chemistry and Five (5) credit level passes at SSCE/NECO/GCE ‘O’ level including English Language, Mathematics/Further Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, Admission should be to 200 level of study in a five year degree programme.
(b) National Diploma (ND) or Higher National Diploma (HND) at Upper Credit and above, in the relevant discipline from an approved Polytechnic or related Institution. ND holders shall be admitted to the 200 level or study in a five year degree programme while HND holders shall be admitted to 300 level. In addition to the above, candidates must have five (5) SCCE/NECO/GCE ‘O’ level credit passes, including English Language, Mathematics/Further Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
(iii) UI accepts 2 ‘A’ level passes in Physics and Mathematics plus UTME requirements. Accepts also ND/HND at upper credit level {65%} accepted to 200/300 Upper levels respectively plus UTME requirements. Knowledge of Further Mathematics is an advantage for all Engineering Courses.
(iv) UI accept ND/HND at upper credit level.
(v) RSUST accept ND (upper credit), HND (lower credit) in relevant areas plus UTME requirements.
(vi) ABU accepts:
(a) ‘A’ level/IJMB passes in Mathematics and Physics.
(b) ND/HND in Elect Eng. Upper/Lower credit with Distinction in Mathematics respectively.
(vii) UNIPORT – No Direct Entry.
(viii) UNIABUJA accepts HND (Lower Credit) or ND ( Upper Credit) in Electrical Engineering from Accredited Institutions plus UTME requirements into 200 level.
