JAMB Subject Combination for Geophysics

In UTME, note that English Language is mandatory for all courses. The other three subjects required to study Geophysics under the Faculty of Sciences in the institutions listed above are: Physics Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics.

Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks (JAMB Brochure for Geophysics)

(i) UNILAG, FUTA and OAU require Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

(ii) UNICAL does not accept Biology.

(iii) FUPRE requires Physics and two of Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology.

(iv) FED-OYEEKITI requires Physics and Mathematics, Chemistry or Biology.

(v) OSUSTECH requires Physics, Mathematics and any one of Chemistry, Biology and Geography.

O’Level Requirements for UTME Candidates (JAMB Brochure for Geophysics)

To apply for Geophysics as a UTME candidate, you require: Five SSCE credits including English Language, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry/Biology.

Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks (JAMB Brochure for Geophysics)

(i) BAUCHI – In addition to the UTME requirements, a credit pass in Geography will be an advantage.

(ii) WUSTO requires five ‘O’ level credit passes in including English and Mathematics and any other 3 subjects preferably Further Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Agricultural Science in that order.

(iii) FUPRE requires five SSCE credit passes including English Language, Biology, Mathematics, physics and Chemistry.

(iv) FED-OYEEKITI accepts five O’ level passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

(v) OSUSTECH requires five ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology /Geography.

(vi) UNILAG requires credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

Requirements for Direct Entry Candidates (JAMB Brochure for Geophysics)

To apply for Geophysics as a Direct Entry candidate, you require: ‘A’ level passes in Chemistry and Physics or Mathematics

Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks

(i) BAUCHI requires ‘A’ level passes in Physics and Mathematics. ‘A’ level pass in Geology will be an advantage.

(ii) LAUTECH accepts ‘A’ Level Passes in Physics, and Mathematics or ND with Upper Credit /HND in Physics, (plus UTME requirements) may be considered for admission into 200 level.

(iii) OSUSTECH requires
(a) Two A’ level passes in Physics and Chemistry or Geography.
(b) National Diploma (ND) with Distinction and Credit passes in relevant subjects.

(iv) UNILAG accepts very good passes in the following three JUPEB/A-LEVEL subjects: Physics Chemistry Mathematics
