JAMB Subject Combination for Metallurgical and Material Engineering
In UTME, note that English Language is mandatory for all courses. The other three subjects required to study Metallurgical and Material Engineering under the Faculty of Engineering, Environment and Technology in the institutions listed above are: Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
O’Level Requirements for Metallurgical and Material Engineering for UTME Candidates (JAMB Brochure for Metallurgical and Material Engineering)
To apply for Metallurgical and Material Engineering as a UTME candidate, you require: Five SSCE credit passes to include Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English Language and one other Science subject
Requirements for Direct Entry Candidates (JAMB Brochure for Metallurgical and Material Engineering)
To apply for Metallurgical and Material Engineering as a Direct Entry candidate, you require: ‘A’ level passes in any two of Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry
Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks (JAMB Brochure for Metallurgical and Material Engineering)
(i) ESUTECH accepts NCE/ND/HND/1st Degree with good grades in the relevant subjects.
(ii) OAU accepts ND/HND (upper credit) in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering into part II and III appropriately.
(iii) OAU requires ‘A’ level passes in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or ND/HND (upper credit) plus UTME requirements.
(iv) FUTA accepts ND Upper Credit Level or its equivalent, in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering or related discipline in recognized institutions; or good passes at the Advanced Level of General Certificate of Education or its equivalent in Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics.
(v) UNILAG – Same as in Chemical Engineering. Accepts HND (Upper Credit) and ND (Distinction) in Metallurgical and Materials or Mechanical Engineering.
(vi) UNN require A/L passes in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics plus UTME requirement.
(vii) UNN accepts:
(a) HND/ND/NCE in relevant fields.
(b) Complete pass in Intermediate ICAN examination or equivalents.
(c) Pass in final exams of the Chartered Institute of Secretaries.
(viii) UNIILORIN accepts ND (Upper credit) with one year post National Diploma industrial attachment or HND (upper credit).
(ix) FUTO accepts any other Science subjects as the fifth subject and not more than two sittings.
