JAMB Brochure for Nutrition and Dietetics. This part of the JAMB brochure shows you the requirements to apply for Nutrition and Dietetics under the Faculty of Engineering, Environment and Technology in Nigerian polytechnics and monotechnics. You will see the UTME subject combination needed to apply for the course, O’level requirements for UTME candidates, requirements for Direct Entry candidates, as well as other information you require to successfully apply for the course.

  • Federal Polytechnic, Ede
  • Hassan Usman Katsina Poly
  • Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro
  • Federal Polytechnic, Mubi
  • Imo State Polytechnic
  • Kaduna Polytechnic
  • Moshood Abiola Polytechnic
  • Ramat Polytechnic
  • Rufus Giwa Polytechnic
  • Shehu Idris College Of Health Sci And Tech, Makarfi

JAMB Subject Combination for Nutrition and Dietetics

In UTME, note that English Language is mandatory for all courses. The other three subjects required to study Nutrition and Dietetics under the Faculty of Engineering, Environment and Technology in the institutions listed above are: Chemistry, Biology and Agricultural Science.

O’Level Requirements for UTME Candidates

To apply for Nutrition and Dietetics as a UTME candidate, you require: Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science/Health Science and any three of the following:

  • Food and Nutrition,
  • Mathematics,
  • Economics/Commerce,
  • Physics,
  • English Language,
  • Home Management.

At least a credit pass in English Language and Mathematics are required in your WAEC or NECO.

Requirements for Direct Entry Candidates (JAMB Brochure for Nutrition and Dietetics)

To apply for Nutrition and Dietetics as a Direct Entry candidate, you require: (i) HUKPOLY accepts TC II, Craft Certificate, NCE, NTC with four credits in four relevant subjects including Mathematics. OR Category B Physics/Technical Drawing and any of Mathematics or General Science)

(ii) SICHSTMAKARFI requires five ‘O’ credits in English Language, Mathematics, Biology/Agric. Science, Chemistry, one subject chosen from Physics, Food and Nutrition, Economics, Commerce and Home Management.

(iii) KAD-POLY requires Chemistry and any two from Biology, Agric. Science, Food and Nutrition, Physics, Mathematics and Economics as UTME subjects.

(iv) RUGIPO accept either of Biology or Agricultural Science for UTME subjects

(iv) EDEPOLY requires five o level credits in English language, Maths, Chemistry, Biology and one subject from the following food and nutrition, physics, economics and health science. Fed-po Ede does not accept Agric science/ Health science in place of Biology, commerce and Home management.

(v) IMO-POLY Requires a credit pass in Chemistry.

(vi) MAPOLY requires five credits at not more than two sittings to include Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology/ Agricultural Science with at least pass in English Language and Physics.

(vii) BAUCHIPOLY accepts Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science, Physics and Economics.
