Obedience is the willingness to listen to instructions and do what one is told to do, especially when the instruction comes from God or a person in authority.

Question 2

a. Give account of two temptations of Jesus Christ.

After Jesus had fasted for forty days and forty nights, He was hungry. Satan came to tempt Him.

  1. Turning stones into bread: Satan asked Jesus to command stones to become bread if He was the Son of God. Jesus refused and answered that man should not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from God.
  2. Worshipping Satan: Satan took Jesus to a high mountain and showed Him the kingdoms of the world. He promised to give them to Jesus if He would bow down and worship him. Jesus rejected the offer and commanded Satan to leave, saying that only God should be worshipped and served.

A parable is a simple story used by Jesus to teach a moral or spiritual lesson.

b. Narrate the parable of the lost sheep.

Jesus told the story of a shepherd who had one hundred sheep. One day, one of the sheep wandered away and became lost. The shepherd left the ninety-nine sheep in the open country and went in search of the lost one.

When he found the lost sheep, he was very happy. He carried it on his shoulders and returned home. He then called his friends and neighbours to rejoice with him because he had found his lost sheep.

Jesus used this parable to teach that God cares about every person. There is great joy in heaven when a sinner repents and returns to God.
