The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released a list of electronic devices that a prohibited for candidates during the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME).
This was contained in JAMB’s Weekly Bulletin, released in Abuja on Sunday.
A quick look at the JAMB’s Weekly Bulletin shows the following devices:
- mobile phones
- calculators
- wristwatches
- recorders
Other banned items include:
- spy reading glasses
- cameras
- ear piece
- bluetooth devices
- USB
- CD
- hard disk and other similar storage devices.
- pen/biro
- smart lenses
- books or any reading/writing material
- ink/pen readers
- key holders
- ATM cards
- erasers and
- smart rings/jewelries.
The above listed items are prohibited by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board in order ensure that the board’s examinations meet best global practice.
If you are a 2024 JAMB candidate, you are hereby advised in your best interest not to bring any of these items close to your examination venue. JAMB has re-iterated that any breach of this directive would bar candidates from taking the examination.
According to JAMB’s spokesperson, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, some candidates who breached the directive and brought some of the devices to the hall last year were caught and handed over to security agencies. So be warned!
