JAMB Brochure for Crop Production. This part of the JAMB brochure shows you the requirements to apply for Crop Production under the Faculty of Agriculture in Nigeria. You will see the UTME subject combination needed to apply for the course, O’level requirements for UTME candidates, requirements such A’level, ND, HND, NCE, etc for Direct Entry candidates, as well as other information you require to successfully apply for the course.

JAMB Subject Combination for Crop Production

In UTME, note that English Language is mandatory for all courses. The other three subjects required to study Crop Production under the Faculty of Agriculture in the institutions listed above are:
Chemistry, Biology/Agriculture and Mathematics or Physics.

Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks

(i) FUTA requires English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Agricultural Science.

(ii) SALEM requires Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science and Physics.

(iii) LAUTECH requires English language, Chemistry, Biology/Agriculture Science, and Physics/Mathematics

(iv) OOU – Same as in Agricultural Extension and Rural Sociology.

O’Level Requirements for Crop Production for UTME Candidates (JAMB Brochure for Crop Production)

To apply for Crop Production as a UTME candidate, you require: Five SSCE credit passes to include Chemistry, Biology/Agric Science Mathematics and one Science/Social Science subject and at least a pass in Physics.

Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks (JAMB Brochure for Crop Production)

(i)DELSU accepts a pass in English Language.

(ii) UNIBEN accepts Statistics and Further Mathematics. Also requires at least a pass in Physics and a pass in Biology for candidates with a credit pass in Agric. Science.

(iii) UNICAL requires five ‘O’ level credit passes to include Chemistry, Biology/Agric Science Mathematics and one Science/Social Science subject and at least a pass in Physics plus English Language 9 credit pass.

(iv) OOU requires ‘O’ level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics and Physics.

(v) UNIBENIN accepts Statistics and Further Mathematics. Also requires at least a pass in Physics and a pass in Biology for candidates with a credit pass in Agric. Science.

(vi) NDU requires five ‘O’ level credit passes in English, Maths, Chemistry, Physics, Biology or Agricultural Science.

(vii) DELSU accepts P.7 in English Language.

(viii) FUTMINNA accepts any one of Physics, geography, Economics, Home Economics, Food and nutrition as the fifth subject. At least a pass in Physics is required.

(ix) UNIZIK accepts a pass in English Language. A credit pass in Mathematics or a pass in Physics or vice versa.

(x) DELSU accepts a pass in English Language.

(xi) FUAM And MOUAU accept a pass in Physics.

(xii) UNN accepts five O ’level credit passes in subjects which must include English Lang., Biology/or Agric. Science, chemistry and either mathematics or physics.

(xiii) FUTMINNA and FUTO require credit passes in English Language and Mathematics

(xiv) BASU and RSUST require credit in English language for UTME but accept a pass in Physics.

(xv) UNIPORT accepts any of Physics, Geography and Economics. UNIPORT also requires Mathematics or Physics as the third subject

(xvi) ANSU and ABSU require five ‘O’ level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology or Agricultural Science.

(xvii) MAUTECH accepts a pass in Physics.

(xviii) UNAAB requires:

a) Credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology.

b) At least a pass in Physics.

c) Candidates with pass grade in Biology must possess credit pass in Agricultural Science.It does not accept Agricultural Science in lieu of Biology.

(xix) FUTA requires five credits at WASSCE or NECO or GCE O/L or equivalent examinations at a maximum of two sittings in the following subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology or Agricultural Science. At least a Pass in Physics is required.

(xx) FUAM requires five credit passes in Biology or Agriculture Science, Chemistry, Mathematics, English Language, Physics or any other Science subjects. Accepts a pass in Physics.

(xxi) LAUTECH requires five credit passes in Biology or Agriculture Science, Chemistry, Mathematics, English Language, Physics.

Requirements for Direct Entry Candidates (JAMB Brochure for Crop Production)

To apply for Crop Production as a Direct Entry candidate, you require: Two ‘A’ level passes in Chemistry and Biology/Agric Science/Botany/Zoology or Physics/Mathematics/ Economics.

Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks (JAMB Brochure for Crop Production)

(i) FUTMINNA does not accept Social Science subjects. Other requirements are as in Agriculture.

(ii) NDU – No direct entry admission.

(iii) OOU requires ‘A’ level passes in both Chemistry and Biology. Accepts credit in OND (Agric) to 100 level programme. OND (distinction)/HND (Credit)/NCE (Double major) at credit level in Agriculture.

(iv) RSUST requires HSC/GCE A’ level passes in Chemistry and Biology including English Language, ND/UD (upper credit) in Biology or Agricultural Science for admission to 200 level or HND (credit) in Biology or Agricultural Science for admission to 200 or 300 levels respectively in addition to UTME requirement.

(v) FUTO requires at least two A’ level passes not below Grade C in Chemistry and any one of Zoology, Botany, Agricultural Science, Biology, Mathematics, Physics and Economics. It also accepts Upper Credit OND/HND in Agricultural Science but does not accept First Degree and NCE. Candidates must in addition meet the UTME O’ level requirements.

(vi) FUTMINNA accepts NCE/OND/HND at minimum of Lower Credit level in addition to UTME requirement.

(vii) ADSU accepts OND (distinction), HND (credit), NCE (double major) at credit level in Agric.

(viii) EKSU accept pass in Physics.

(ix) FUTA accepts:

a) OND or equivalent professional qualifications at Upper Credit level or ‘A’ level passes at least two of the following subjects, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics. Holders of any of these certificates from recognized institutions may be considered for admission into 200 level, provided they meet the minimum entry requirements and have passed relevant subjects at appropriate level

(x) BASU accepts NCE, OND (relevant field) in addition to UTME requirements.

(xi) IMSU accepts OND or NCE (Double Major) and HND in Agriculture with at least a credit pass in 200 level.

(xii) FUTO requires at least two A’ level passes not below Grade C in Chemistry and any one of Zoology, Botany, Agricultural Science, Biology, Mathematics, Physics and Economics. It also accepts Upper Credit OND/HND in Agricultural Science but does not accept First Degree and NCE. Candidates must in addition meet the UTME O’ level requirements.

(xiii) UNIBEN accepts Merit in ND (Upper credit)/HND (Lower credit) in any one of Agric- Economics, Agric-Ext., and Cooperatives, Fisheries, Forestry and Wildlife Mgt., Geology, Advanced Microbiology, Food and Brewing Sc., Science Lab. Tech. plus UTME requirements. NCE in Agric. Science, Biology, Chemistry or Physics (overall merit pass) plus UTME requirements. Does not accept ‘A’ level pass in Health Science

(xiv) MAUTECH accepts:

a) OND/NCE in Agric. with a minimum of Merit grade in Agriculture.

b) IJMB with at least 7 cumulative points in Chemistry, Biology/ Agricultural and Physics/ Mathematics.

(xv) UNAAB accepts:

a) Two A’ level credit passes in Chemistry and one of Zoology/Botany/Agricultural Science/Biology, Mathematics or Physics.

b) ND/HND (Upper credit) in Agriculture from a recognised institution in any one of Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Extension, Fisheries, Forestry and Wildlife Management, Agricultural Technology plus UTME requirements.

c) NCE in Agricultural Science, Biology, Chemistry or Physics (credit) plus UTME requirements

(xvi) FUTA admits candidates with any of the followings:

a) OND with a minimum of upper credit from recognized Polytechnics or Colleges of Technology or the Nigerian Certificate in Education (NCE) or equivalent in relevant agriculture-based disciplines such as Agricultural Education and Crop Production Technology.

b) GCE Advanced Level passes in Biology and any of the following subjects: Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics.

(xvii) OAU does not accept Economics and accepts HND/OND in Agriculture obtained at upper credit level from recognized Institution.

(xviii) UNICAL accepts HND, NCE/OND at merit level but does not accept IJMB.

(xix) KWASU accepts OND/HND, NCE (relevant field) in addition to UTME requirements.

(xx) FUAM accepts:

a) Two `A” level passes in any of Chemistry and Biology/Agricultural Science/Botany/Zoology or Mathematics, (Pure and Applied) Physics, Geology and Economics).

b) NCE/OND/HND (Credit/Merit) in Agriculture

(xxi) LAUTECH accepts:

a) Two `A” level passes in any of Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science or Physics.

b) NCE/OND/HND (Credit/Merit) in Agriculture.

(xxii) EBSU accept NCE with minimum Merit passes in relevant fields or HND and OND with minimum of Upper credit in relevant fields.
