JAMB Brochure for Public Administration Under Faculty of Administration

This part of the JAMB brochure shows you the requirements to apply for Public Administration under the Faculty of Administration in Nigeria. You will see the UTME subject combination needed to apply for the course, O’level requirements for UTME candidates, requirements such A’level, ND, HND, NCE, etc for Direct Entry candidates, as well as other information you require to successfully apply for the course.

JAMB UTME Subject Combination

In UTME, note that English Language is mandatory for all courses. The other three subjects required to study Public Administration under the Faculty of Administration in the institutions listed above are:

Government, Economics and any other subject.

O’Level Requirements for UTME Candidates

To apply for Public Administrationas a UTME candidate, you require: Five SSCE credits to include English Language, Economics and Government. For NBC holders, the other relevant subjects could be from any of the following: Accounting, Principles of Accounts, Commerce, Office Practice and Secretarial Duties.

Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks

(i) UNN requires minimum entry requirement plus credit level pass in English Language, Government or History and Mathematics at SSCE or GCE O’ level.

Requirements for Direct Entry Candidates

To apply for Public Administration as a Direct Entry candidate, you require: Two ‘A’ level passes chosen from Economics, Accounting, Business Management, Government, Geography and Statistics.

Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks

(i) UNN accepts for a 3 year programme (Direct Entry) candidates to possess one of the following qualifications:
a) Two GCE (A/L) passes or its equivalent in any of the following subjects; Government, History, Economics, Business Management, Accounting and Geography plus UTME requirement.
b) Higher National Diploma of recognized institutions with a minimum of merit/lower credit level passes plus UTME requirement.
c) Possession of Government is not a pre-requisite for 3 year Direct Entry candidates.
