JAMB Brochure for International Relations Under Faculty of Social and Management Sciences

This part of the JAMB brochure shows you the requirements to apply for International Relations under the Faculty of Social and Management Sciences in Nigeria. You will see the UTME subject combination needed to apply for the course, O’level requirements for UTME candidates, requirements such A’level, ND, HND, NCE, etc for Direct Entry candidates, as well as other information you require to successfully apply for the course.

JAMB UTME Subject Combination

In UTME, note that English Language is mandatory for all courses. The other three subjects required to study International Relations under the Faculty of Social and Management Sciences in the institutions listed above are:

Economics, Literature- in- English and Geography/Government/History

Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks

(i) SOUTHWESTERN requires Mathematics and any two of the following: Economics, History, Government, Geography, Literature in English and French.

(ii) BAYERO requires Government or History plus two other Social Science subjects.

O’Level Requirements for UTME Candidates

To apply for International Relations as a UTME candidate, you require: Five SSCE credit passes to include English Language, Government, History and three relevant subjects.

Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks

(i)COVENANT requires five ‘O’ Level credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Economics , one science subject from the following (Biology, Health/ General Science, Agricultural Science, Physics and Chemistry) and either of Geography, Government, Accounting, Book Keeping and Commerce.

Requirements for Direct Entry Candidates

To apply for International Relations as a Direct Entry candidate, you require: Two ‘A’ level passes in Social Science subject from Government/History, Economics, Sociology and Business Management

Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks

(i) SOUTHWESTERN accepts IJMB, NCE, ND, HND or its equivalents.

(ii) GO requires three ‘A’ level passes in Government and any one of Economics, Mathematics and Geography. I.J.M.B.

(iii) SOUTHWESTERN requires five SSCE credit passes including English Language, Government and Mathematics and any other two relevant subjects.
