JAMB Subject Combination for Mining Engineering

In UTME, note that English Language is mandatory for all courses. The other three subjects required to study Mining Engineering under the Faculty of Engineering, Environment and Technology in the institutions listed above are: Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics.

O’Level Requirements for UTME Candidates (JAMB Brochure for Mining Engineering)

To apply for Mining Engineering as a UTME candidate, you require: Five SSCE credit passes in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English Language and any other Science subjects

Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks (JAMB Brochure for Mining Engineering)

(i) UNIJOS – All credits at one sitting

Requirements for Direct Entry Candidates (JAMB Brochure for Mining Engineering)

To apply for Mining Engineering as a Direct Entry candidate, you require:

(i) ‘A’ level passes in any two of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

(ii) ND (upper credit) in Mining Engr./ Mineral Resources and Geological Study in addition to ‘O’ level requirements

Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks

(i) FUTA accepts ND at Upper Credit Level or its equivalent in Mining or Mineral Resources Engineering or related discipline from recognized institutions or ‘Good passes at the General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) or its equivalent in at least two of the following subjects: Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics.

(ii) UNIJOS requires two ‘A’ level or IJMB passes in Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics. It also accepts ND (credit level) in Mining Engineering/Mineral Resources Engineering or a closely related discipline from a recognised institution may be considered provided the candidate has credit pass in Mathematics at O’ level
